Basic Info
Name:Gregory Thorne (AU)
Birthdate:03-15
Bio

All about me

Basics

Character: Gregory Marigold Thorne
Series/Fandom: South Park
Age: 18
Gender: Male.
Species: Human.
Sexuality: Undecided.
Notable Possesions: Anything bright orange is bound to be his. He has a small, stuffed flower key chain that his mother gave to him on his sixteenth birthday for his 'passage into manhood' and one of his fathers’ medals on the same birthday. He also has his fathers officers cap - rarely worn, but occasionally looked at with the longing and want to wear it.

Physical

Gregory has loosely curled blonde hair and blue eyes, set in a 'pretty' face that has an undeniably attractive and cheerful air to its expression. His face leads itself to his emotions perhaps a little too easily when he's not in his more professional moments, and a tendency to talk with his hands and grand movements certainly doesn't help any hiding of his feelings. He doesn't look like much of a threat, of average height and a slender frame - no, Gregory seems more the schools pretty boy then mastermind behind a mercenary business.
He favours bright colours for clothing, notably orange shirts and smart black trousers. As a rule, he likes to keep himself in neat condition, keeping himself clean-shaven, his nails and hair tidy whenever possible. He especially despises dirt under his nails and can fuss to previously unheard of levels.

Emotional

Bright and bubbly to a fault, Gregory is an activist at heart and a performer on the surface. Gregory seems almost over-dramatic and theatrical, a little full of himself, but undeniably intelligent and, more then that, aware that he is intelligent and unafraid to flaunt it.
Gregory is outgoing and friendly to almost everyone he meets. Almost, as the boy does have a touch of elitism that tends to have him sort people into two categories: intelligent, and 'rogues'. The rogues he tends to gloss over and treat with patience and just a little bit of sarcasm. Those he feels matches him in intellect or his superiors will get his full respect, of course.
Brave and, he likes to think, noble, Gregory sees himself as the peoples speaker, the one fighting for justice and truth in the world by any means necessary. And the occasional musical actor, when he gets the time to.

Good&Bad

Abilities/Strengths:
Gun handling - Has experience handling and firing small firearms, mostly pistols of various types. Prizes himself on being a rather good shot, including under pressure and dangerous situations.
Savate/French boxing - While not an expert, has been taught mostly by his friend Christophe after a fair amount of pleading and making a nuisance of himself. Is at a green glove level, though rarely uses it.
Computer prowess - Has experience and is quite adept at hacking and manipulating computer systems. Often works ahead of Mole to take down power or security systems to help his friend get into wherever they're infiltrating.
Good singing voice - Well, HE sees it as a strength.

Weaknesses:
Phasmophobia - The intense fear of ghosts. Probably Gregory’s greatest fear, the supernatural and the fact that he would be powerless to fight it. Horror movies and screamer video clips on the internet do nothing to sooth his fears, only making the whole thing worse and he does NOT appreciate being linked to such things by a certain someone. If confronted with a 'haunted house' he will do all in his power, even resorting to physical violence, to avoid setting foot in there.
Achluophobia - Fear of the dark. While not as intense as the above phobia, it's again linked to the fear of the unknown and the disability to see what would be attacking him if such a situation occurred.
Emotional - No, not an Emo. He is however rather susceptible to a good sob story and the pleas of the helpless unless someone is good enough to knock some sense and sobriety into him.
Ego – It’s the size of a small nation and any small amount of flattery can turn his head and leave him terribly unguarded.

The past

Richard Thorne was an officer in the US Army. Star Leafsong Weatherchimes was raised on a commune in Northern California. They met at a peace rally gone bad, and got married the next day in a slapdash ceremony a little way out of town. It wasn't long until they were expecting a child, and soon enough one Gregory Marigold Thorne was born. He was 'christened' in a national park, and was then swiftly whisked away to their family home.
From a young age, Gregory was interested in hearing his parents speak. This was not too unusual, unless you considered his parents choices of conversation. Given their opposing points of view on a lot of subjects, it was obvious that Gregory was going to get a little confused from time to time - calling ones Father an 'oppressive cog in the machine of destruction and government fuelled hate built only to keep the people down' was perhaps something Gregory should have kept to himself, no matter how funny his Mother happened to find it.
As his parents travelled a lot - one with his duties, the other with her oddities - the subject of schooling and where he should attend was always a hot topic, let alone whether he should attend at all. Finally, his parents asked him, and were met with a resounding 'yes'. Some research was done, and it was decided that to ensure that Gregory got a stable schooling he should attend a boarding school. Yardale was chosen by Gregory himself, who had sat down with his parents and pored through the leaflets with a furious appetite.
Gregory arrived at the school, was shown around, watched his parents drive off... And like any self respecting six year old boy on his first time away from his family and everyone he held dear, attempted not to cry in public that he wanted his mom. Instead he put his head down and worked. Thankfully, this was something he enjoyed greatly and had no trouble getting into lessons with great gusto - history and the computer studies holding great interest for him. It wasn't difficult for him to make friends, perhaps his enthusiasm for other people and their company the most appealing thing about him.
Of course, no schooling experience is happy and full of friends. One must also have a nemesis, and Gregory’s was one Christophe 'Mole' Delanoë. Not quite the school bully but certainly one of those 'odd kids', Gregory didn't really regard the other boy with much disdain. Indeed, all the venom seemed to come from Mole, if Gregory’s opinion was true. However, there was one incident when they were eight years old that started and possibly cemented one of the greatest friendships Gregory has in his life to date.
The Janitor, having an unfortunate habit of sweeping and salting the snow to prevent snowballing during breaks was the greater enemy. After both of their singular attempts failed, a truce and team up effort was proposed. Their weapons of choice were molasses and a bee-gun, and to cut a long story short, their goal was succeeded. Out of mutual respect, and seeing the opportunity for far more success in their own ventures, the two teamed up as a 'mercenary team'. Gregory, ever more charismatic and charming then his French counterpart, handled the face-to-face dealings and made the plans while Mole carried them out to the letter with an increasingly foul mouth and bad temper.
Then, of course, there was the entire Canada-America disaster a year later. As their parents retreated to Colorado for a winter break, Gregory simply couldn't resist getting stuck in with the whole thing. Volunteering Mole for the job - and regretting that he hadn't forewarned him - Gregory had trust in his friends abilities. Nothing had ever gone wrong before, and it was only the US army, right?
Mole didn't speak to him for almost three months after his brush with death, and when he finally did Gregory was moved to sudden and rather embarrassing tears. Not one of his proudest moments, that was for certain.
Since then, the pair has gone from strength to strength. Granted, it's sometimes a little frustrating to manage a mercenary business around a social life as well as schoolwork, but they seem to manage well enough. Or rather, Gregory manages well enough and Mole merely glares and growls and grumps his way through everything that the blonde can throw at him.
